This is set in the Vorkosigan universe, and takes place in a different setting, 200 years in the past. Bruce Van Atta, is as pointy haired as it gets, which is the biggest flaw of this book - Van Atta is almost cartoonish, and is just missing a moustache to twirl. ![]() This would probably appeal to readers that enjoyed, with its heroic engineering efforts. Leo's crew is unique and adorable, filled with innocence and particularly skilled for the work he is training them for. Very enjoyable read - there is a higher focus on the technical aspects, particularly with some creative problem solving near the end of the book. But Leo does not focus just on the technical side, and notices flagrant human rights violations, and somehow gets involved in something with huge ethical implications. Leo Graf, an experienced engineer, has a new assignment teaching welding techniques to a most unusual crew. ![]()
